A pair of rustic sculptural candlestick, hand-built using a course black clay. Finger impressions and tool marks on the clay body have been left, so that the finished candlesticks have a primitive and organic feel. This is enhanced by the use of a groggy, highly textured clay. The black glossy glaze is irregularly applied and intentionally leaves parts of the body exposed.
