The dish is hand built and the tool marks have been left behind so that the finished platter feels natural, primitive and organic. The groggy clay body is highly textured and enhances the rustic feel, as does the glaze which has been irregularly poured over the pot in layers leaving parts of the beautiful clay body exposed.
